Alex and Murray had the ultimate laid-back Karoo wedding – a relaxed and beautifully simple DIY affair (planned and arranged all the way from their base in Singapore!), on Alex’s cousin’s farm where Alex spent many of her childhood holidays over the years. And the wedding embodied all the quirks and charm that the Karoo could lay on… Show-stopping scenery, windmills, ancient farmhouses, farm animals at every turn, that special brand of Eastern Cape make-yourself-at-home hospitality, 19th Century ox-wagons, and pre-wedding photos in the most amazing backlit grapevines nature could provide. A sun-dappled ceremony under a magnanimous poplar tree, complete with prayer flags fluttering in the breeze. Then garden Pimms & GnTs & shishas (tequila shots for the bride) with friends & family followed by a drive with the dashing groom and his red-headed Karoo Queen to their favourite sundowner spot – and of course the never-ending breathtaking panoramas of the Karoo!
Alex and Murray – I loved every second of photographing your beautiful day and thank you for letting Matt and I share it with you! Enjoy these, a little taster of just a little part of your magic day.
